What It's Like After Telling Your Truth
There’s a moment after telling your truth when your body finally realizes it’s safe to let go. I didn’t expect the release to feel so physical. I thought it would be mental, emotional, maybe even anticlimactic. But when I finally put the words into the world, my body responded first. My shoulders softened. My breath slowed. And I realized how tightly I’d been holding everything together. Letting go didn’t happen all at once. It never does. It happened in layers.
