January, in Motion

If you’re learning how to slow your pace without losing momentum, this season might feel familiar.
This isn’t a recap of my month.
It’s a look at what it feels like to live after telling the truth, after launching something meaningful, and before the next chapter fully makes itself known.
January has felt deliberate. Not quiet in the sense of inactivity, but quieter in the way things settle when you stop forcing forward motion and let the work catch up to you.
A lot has been moving at once, not in a chaotic way, but in a “this is building” way. So instead of a reflection, I wanted to share what’s actually unfolding right now and where my energy has been going since the book launch.
The Book, Now in My Voice
Since Enough Already was released, I’ve been sitting with what it means to let a story live outside of me. People are reading it, responding to it, and carrying parts of it into their own lives. That’s been grounding in ways I didn’t anticipate.
Next month, I start recording the book in my own voice. Something slower than writing. More embodied. Less performative. Honoring my story instead of pushing it forward. I’m taking my time with this, on purpose.
Conversations That Matter
I also had a podcast conversation with Corinne Zuleger that felt aligned with the heart of this season. I met Corinne nearly a decade ago when she saw me speak at a school. We’ve stayed close since and on her podcast we talked about family, healing through grief, and what happens after you’ve told the truth. Not the highlight reel version, but the real, lived version.

I shared an Empowerment Exchange video with We EmpowHER as well. That organization has held me through multiple chapters of my life, and showing up there again felt full-circle in the best way. I read from my book, and tears were shed; it was a good one. PS. I’ll be joining them at HER Day in March at Oshkosh Arena!!

Creative Work, Side by Side
Alongside my own work, I’m watching Anthony prepare to expand his Unbroken Project. This project has been years in the making, rooted in storytelling, photography, and integrity. Being close to that process has been a reminder that meaningful creative work doesn’t rush itself. It asks for patience and presence. Stay tuned and be sure to follow the_broken_project if you don’t already.

The Long Game, Affirmed
At RISE TOGETHER, we shared two major milestones in the past month: our annual report and newly published, peer-reviewed research confirming the impact of our peer-led, story-driven prevention work.
That research didn’t appear overnight. It represents years of listening to young people, refining our approach, and choosing process over shortcuts. Seeing that work reflected back through data and research feels affirming, not because it proves anything new, but because it honors the long game we committed to.

All of this together feels less like “what’s next” and more like “this is landing.”
January wasn’t about reinvention.
It was about integration.
If you’re navigating your own version of this in between space, where you’re moving forward but choosing to do it differently, you’re not alone.
I’m moving into February focused on consistency, clarity, and staying rooted in the work that actually matters. No rushing. No shrinking. Just showing up with intention.
If you’re here, reading along, thank you.
More is unfolding.
Much love,
Nadine
