Florida Life & the Lessons I’m Learning

We’ve officially been in Florida for a month now.
We’re only a block from the Indian River and the cutest neighborhood park we’ve come to love. We’ve been to the beach so many times, I’ve officially lost count. This past week, we even explored a new spot where the locals go—and for the first time, we didn’t feel like visitors. We felt like we belonged.
And that’s exactly what this chapter is starting to feel like:
Not just a move.
Not just a reset.
But a return—to myself, to joy, to what matters most.
I’m not just settling in.
I’m also realizing something even bigger:
I’m ready.
Ready for what’s next.
Ready to grow roots in a new place.
Ready to own who I am—without waiting for perfect clarity.
Even if I don’t fully know what that looks like yet.
Which is key here—because do any of us really know what we’re doing?
Let’s be honest. No one has it all figured out. Not really.
And that’s not why I’m sharing now. I’m not showing up because I have all the answers. I’m sharing because I don’t—and I know I’m not alone in that.
So if you’re in a season of transition, of starting fresh, of wondering what’s next… you don’t need a 10-step plan.
You just need to start.
That’s what I’m doing: showing up, figuring it out as I go, and trusting that it’s enough.
Below is what I'm learning in this transition...
Slowing Down Is Everything
I’ve said it before, but I mean it differently now. And I know Anthony's felt it too. Slowing down isn’t just about pacing—it’s about presence.
Getting outside.
Making good food.
Letting Aidyn lead the way on our walks.
Not rushing to the next thing.
Those little things have brought me so much joy again.
Not performative joy. Not “look at me healing” joy.
Just real-life joy.
The kind that shows up when you stop running and start being.
You Can Be Confident and Still Unsure
There’s this myth that clarity = confidence. But the truth is, I feel deeply confident in who I am and what I bring to the world… even while I’m still figuring out what’s next.
That’s where I am right now.
With my book.
Being a mom to a toddler.
Building new friendships and getting connected in a community I’ve never lived in before.
And it’s okay.
You don’t have to have it all mapped out to trust that you’re on the right path.
Trusting That What You Offer Matters
This one has been big. Moving away from everything familiar has made me ask hard questions about my work, my story, and my voice. But the more I connect with people here, the more I realize:
There is always someone who needs to hear exactly what you have to say.
The more honest I am, the more aligned everything feels.
Even the unknowns feel all part of the process.
Something New I'll be offering weekly is a Self-Worth Reset.
This could look like a writing prompt, question, idea, activity, etc.
This week's questions and prompts are:
Where are you holding back because you’re waiting to feel “ready”?
What if readiness is already within you—right now, just as you are?
If we had "waited" any longer to move... I'm not sure we would've.
A Little Life Lately…
Aidyn is busy and curious, and hilarious. I’m learning how to slow down with him, not just around him. Anthony and I are figuring out our rhythm again—and honestly, it’s beautiful to watch us re-create our life from the inside out.
I’m finding joy in the small stuff: walking barefoot, cooking more meals, and feeling the sun on my skin daily.
So, if you’re wondering how we’re doing? We’re doing exactly what we came here to do:
Rebuild.
Reconnect.
And remember what matters.
